Our history

The history of the company began almost 40 years ago, in 1981, with the emblematic Club Pollentia Resort.
Mr. Fernando Porto envisioned, on a family estate, a unique 85.000 m2 resort, with over 200 employees, located in a privileged environment, in front of the bay of Pollensa and in the Albufereta Natural Park.
Since 2011, his son, Arnau Porto, has been leading the business evolution, turning it into PortBlue Hotel Group.
In 2015 the S’Algar Group was purchased with five properties in Menorca and in 2017 the Hotel Le Sivory Punta Cana by PortBlue Boutique in the Dominican Republic.
Thanks to this operation, PortBlue Hotel Group develops and perfects its know-how in the management of resorts, receiving numerous awards and significantly improving the profitability of the properties.
In 2020, the group redefines its expansion strategy and focuses on the management of higher category assets. Consistent with this, it reached an agreement to sell the S’Algar hotels and began to explore growth possibilities in this regard while continuing to work on improvements to the hotels in its portfolio: PortBlue Club Pollentia Resort & Spa (Majorca), La Quinta Menorca by PortBlue Boutique (Minorca), Hotel Spa Ciudad de Astorga by PortBlue Boutique (Leon) and Le Sivory Punta Cana by PortBlue Boutique (Punta Cana).
